Professor Fernando was awarded the President’s Award for Scientific Research for the research paper titled “Solving Systems of Nonlinear Equations Using a Modified Firefly Algorithm (MODFA),” co-authored with MKA Ariyaratne and S. Weerakoon, published in the journal “Swarm and Evolutionary Computation” (Vol. 48, pp. 72-92) in 2019.
